Hotel recommendations

Depends on itinerary, if you cheong thermae, good to have hotel near the area, otherwise most chiong places don't require you have your own room, get the job done there and then.

Can consider staying near phrom phong, a lot of MPs around the area. Shopping wise, there's so many malls in bangkok now, but I like T21 cause they have those smaller stalls where they sell local brands at good pricing. A lot of luxury malls in bkk now, but items are mostly luxury priced.

How abt short time hotels? Those for only 2-3 hours kind. Any recommendations near Sukhumvit area? Any advice much appreciated

There are so many ST hotels.... too many to list them.... probably in the hundreds.
Your FL will be able to bring you to the ST room nearest from where you picked her up.
